The Niue Star was first published in June 1993 as a weekly publication and is the first ever privately owned newspaper to be established on the Island. In its history it has without fail managed to provide Niue people on the Rock and all over the world consistent and reliable information of happenings both at home and abroad.
The Niue Star continues to provide a quality service and is a leader in providing Niue News to Niue people all over the globe. The Niue Star since it launched in Auckland in 2003 has printed more than 290 volumes and sold 80,500 copies nationwide and in Niue.
Niue Star is non Profit organisation and depends highly on contributions from the community in terms of stories/photos and so on, doing it for the People by the People.
